We meet on a Saturday and leave the sports club at 8:05am. We typically train around the
Brickendon and Essendon areas using hills or short circuits, practising drills and techniques.
We train in all weathers but please make sure you check by email email@example.com,
facebook Hoddesdon Tri Club page or Twitter @HoddTri before attending, as sometimes
sessions could be changed due to the weather.
- We ask that all riders are on road / tri-bikes
- Helmets are mandatory.
- Due to where we train being in a forest it is very dark, all riders should have a rear
light as a minimum, and ideally also a front light.
- As we ride in a group it is nice to have mudguards during winter and everyone
should have kit to change a puncture.
- Aero bars and TT bikes are welcome but should only be used in an aero position
whilst riding as an individual, not when riding as a group.
On the first Saturday of every month we ride down to the Gunpowder Parkrun. This is a 5k
running race that is free to enter. Please ensure you have registered and bring your barcode
(everything is completely free). You will need running kit and a lock (it’s a good opportunity
to test out tri suits etc). We recommend having warmer clothing for the return ride as we
will wait for everyone to finish before beginning the ride home.
Some people are new to riding on the road and safety is our highest priority. Please follow
any instructions given by your ride leader and be aware of the safety of others at all times. If
you have done little or no road riding or group riding please let your leader know, everyone
starts somewhere and everyone has been a beginner! We will give people guidance on how
to ride safely, and if you would like a 1:1 session on Safe riding please speak to Anthony.
We ride as fast as the slowest rider, nobody is left behind!
